<image:title>The Animals - Zazu - Yup, a Zony!</image:title>
<image:caption>Zazu is a very sweet boy, who politely asks that you give him as much attention as you can spare. He originally arrived with a mini mule friend, but it was clear she wasn’t letting him express himself to the fullest extent. After letting him get accustomed to a herd with a different vibe, he’s become much more confident! Make sure you catch a close look, as he has beautiful stripe patterning on his face, body, and legs. They just happen to hide because of his dark coloration, depending on the angle light is hitting him.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Reno is a small mule with a mighty brain! If he’s not too full from breakfast, he’ll show off his skills in exchange for a few treats. Kisses, standing on a pedestal, and even counting! (Well… as long as you only ask him to count to 3.) He does need to fight for attention against his paddock-mate FlipFlop, which is a tough task. Make sure you show him some love!</image:caption>

<image:caption>We have 4 emus currently at the sanctuary, often interspersed with our other animals. Emus are quite the interesting specimens, with long, agile necks, tiny flightless wings, and extremely powerful feet. And that’s not all! Emus can reach speeds of up to 35mph, which means you better believe they can beat you in a foot race. They also double-feathers, which you can often find floating around the sanctuary. Make sure to try and spot some!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Poor old Frank was left abandoned when his owners moved, and was brought to us by a good samaritan. We’ve been working away at keeping this old boy comfortable, and helping improve the condition of his skin, and have seen great improvement! You’re most likely to find him snoozing in a pile of straw, although he will take a carrot or a head scratch during his more active moments. We recently discovered that he is also helping control our chicken population, as he has been spied eating eggs that happen to be laid in his bedding.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Animals - Tundra & Ruger</image:title>
<image:caption>Tundra and Ruger are the resident livestock guardian dogs at the sanctuary, in charge of the safety of our goats. They are part Great Pyrenees, part Akbash. This brother and sister duo found a home at the sanctuary after severe flooding threatened the safety of them and their littermates. The breeder raced to find safe spaces for the litter, but the disruption of there lives during the early stages led to significant delays in training and development of bad habits. After a dedicated effort from two of the Richardson kids to work with Tundra and Ruger, they have proven to be exceptional guardians. They watch their little herd with keen eyes, and have delightfully sweet temperaments, to boot.</image:caption>

<image:caption>FlipFlop is notorious around the sanctuary for his antics. He’s very smart, and therefore easily bored, and this leads to him finding creative ways to entertain himself. Not paying attention to him? He’ll goose your bum. Left the muck cart unattended? It’s getting flipped. He’s even been known to lead a jail break for some late-night partying. While we really are working diligently to keep him intellectually stimulated, we (and you) can enjoy laughing at what he's come up with next, in the meantime.</image:caption>

All jokes aside, we love these fluffy guys! Apu has a condition called megaesophagus, which can make it hard to properly swallow food. <image:title>The Animals - Buck, Chuck, and Moose - Adopt Buck, Chuck, and Moose!</image:title>
<image:caption>Buck (black) is VERY handsome. His vibrant colors and unmistakable breeding plumage that’s designed for attraction year-round and courtship during the spring, will get everyone’s attention. Buck is a approximately 5 years old. Chuck (tan) is a 4 year old male. He loves floating with his pals in the pool. Moose (white) got his name because he is quite the big boy. He is laid back and just does his own thing, but tags along if his buddies venture off. These ducks are looking for a forever home that can offer them the ‘cushy’ life they deserve: • Duck Friends: We ask that these ducks be adopted together, so that they can continue to keep each other company. This is crucial for social/mental health. • A Splashing Spot: Ideally a pond, lake, or large kiddie pool for daily swimming and preening. • Preening Paradise/environment: A safe, predator-proof spot to dry off and groom and a secured, predator-proof enclosure at night. If you have a flock with room for these gentlemen, or are hoping to start a flock of your own, consider these fantastic gentlemen! Interested? <image:title>Adoptable Animals - Buck, Chuck, and Moose - Adopt Buck, Chuck, and Moose!</image:title>
Interested? <image:title>Adoptable Animals - Bunnies! - Look at these cuties!</image:title>
<image:caption>These two sweeties are a little shy, but our volunteers have been working on getting them much more comfortable with being handled. They can both be held with proper introduction and patience. Neutered male and spayed female. The male initially arrived with what appeared to be scarring on his right eye, from an unknown cause. It has significantly improved with treatment, and does not appear to be causing him any discomfort. Interested? Please email us at americanmademiniatures@gmail.com</image:caption>
