Tundra & Ruger

Tundra and Ruger are the resident livestock guardian dogs at the sanctuary, in charge of the safety of our goats. They are part Great Pyrenees, part Akbash.

This brother and sister duo found a home at the sanctuary after severe flooding threatened the safety of them and their littermates. The breeder raced to find safe spaces for the litter, but the disruption of there lives during the early stages led to significant delays in training and development of bad habits.

After a dedicated effort from two of the Richardson kids to work with Tundra and Ruger, they have proven to be exceptional guardians. They watch their little herd with keen eyes, and have delightfully sweet temperaments, to boot.
